Main Street Iowa to make first visit to Lansing March 8

Once a new town is selected as a Main Street community, as Lansing was earlier this month, one of the first things to happen is a visit by members of the Main Street Iowa organization. Two Main Street Iowa staff members will be in Lansing Thursday, March 8 to train the Main Street Lansing board members, get to know the downtown area, and talk with local businesses and community members.
This is an important first step in the Main Street process following designation, and anyone who may be interested is invited to join Main Street Lansing and Main Street Iowa for a community meeting March 8 at the TJ Hunter’s Banquet Hall in Lansing. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by the community meeting from 6-9 p.m. Discussion will center around what being a Main Street Iowa community means for Lansing and how members of the community can be involved.
