Allamakee Ecumenical Choir to present "A Festival of Lessons and Carols" this Sunday in Waukon

The Allamakee Ecumenical Choir will present "A Festival of Lessons and Carols" service this Sunday, December 11 at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 101 Second Street SW in Waukon. The Lessons and Carols service is patterned after a Lessons and Carols service performed for centuries by the King’s College Chapel Choir in Cambridge, England. Area clergy will read the lessons with carols sung by the choirs and congregation while accompanied by organ and trumpets.
Choral numbers will be presented by the Ecumenical Choir and Ecumenical Children’s Choir accompanied by the string orchestra and handbells. Musical selections will also be presented by the St. John’s Lutheran Church Junior, Youth, and Senior Handbell Choirs. The program is prepared and directed by James Bieber. The public is invited to attend and share in this joyous community celebration of Christmas. A reception will follow in the church basement.
