Bomb threat being investigated at Waukon High School

Administrators in the Allamakee Community School District (ACSD) have reported that Thursday evening, November 10 a message was discovered written on the boy’s bathroom wall in the north hallway of Waukon High School. The message stated “bomb is going off 11/21/11”.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, the Waukon Area Fire Protection District, along with local law enforcement, conducted a search of the entire grades 7-12 building, and no bomb was found. A complete investigation is currently taking place. A letter dated November 11 describing the action being taken by the district was sent home with students or e-mailed directly to parents from the ACSD offices.
Despite the written message indicating Monday, November 21 as the day a "bomb is going off", ACSD administrators say they currently plan to hold a normal day of school that day for the grades 7-12 building. It is advised that the district will take every precaution available for the safety of students and staff.
However, any student in the grades 7-12 building who feels uncomfortable coming to school Monday, November 21 should have a parent call the building secretary or principal to get that student's absence excused for that day. Elementary students are expected to attend school as usual.
