SISTER MARY BOSCO RYDER TO CELEBRATE 50TH JUBILEE

Sister Mary Bosco Ryder, O.S.F., will be celebrating her 50th Jubilee July 2 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon, at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend the reception which will be held in the church hall following mass.
Sister Mary Bosco Ryder was born Sept. 10, 1930 in Waterville to William and Catherine (Ryan) Ryder. She had one brother Don (deceased) and a sister Betty. The family lived on a farm near Waterville where she attended school and graduated in 1949.
She was a member of St. Pius Church Cherry Mound until Aug. 25, 1949 when she entered Mount St. Francis, Dubuque, to become a religious Sister. Sister was received into this Franciscan Community Aug. 12, 1950.
As a Sister, she taught 41 years in the following schools: Sacred Heart in Pocahontas, Holy Trinity in Dubuque, St. Joseph's in Crescent City, CA, Sacred Heart in Monticello, Visitation in Stacyville, and St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville. She is presently tutoring one-on-one at St. Mary's Villa in Waterloo, and currently lives at St. Mary's Convent, 2141 E. Fourth St., Waterloo.
Betty Ryder of Waukon is her sister, and Janette Ryder Blong is her sister-in-law.
