Waukon will host Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade June 12-15; More than 500 tractors expected to navigate three different routes throughout NE Iowa

News Radio 600 WMT AM of Cedar Rapids proudly announces the 17th Annual  WMT Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade scheduled for June 12-15 and hosted by the Waukon community.  Organizers expect 500 participating tractors on the ride this year, with hundreds of other individuals supporting those drivers.
For those not familiar with the Tractorcade, many people compare it to RAGBRAI, only with tractors. This year, 500 tractors, along with more than 300 support people will take part in the ride, based out of Waukon.
Local organizers say the staging area for the three-day event will be the Allamakee County Fairgrounds. Further details about the event will be released as they become available.
"This event is a wonderful opportunity for tractor collectors and enthusiasts to celebrate their hobby and farm heritage together," said Renee Uthoff, Tractorcade coordinator with iHeart Media. "What better place than the state of Iowa to do this - there truly is no other opportunity like this in the world!"
The event will get underway in Waukon Sunday evening, June 12. That evening, the 500 tractor drivers anticipated for this event, along with their support teams, will register, get acquainted, attend the Driver’s Meeting and review the many safety rules that govern Tractorcade.
Monday, June 13, the tractors will roll out of Waukon and travel through Postville, Clermont, Ossian and Decorah before returning to the fairgrounds in Waukon.  Day two, the parade of tractors will leave Waukon in the morning and head north up to the Upper Iowa River Road before passing through New Albin, Lansing, Harpers Ferry, through the Yellow River State Forest, Waterville and then back to the Allamakee County Fairgrounds. The final day of driving will take Tractorcade 2016  on a loop from Waukon  north along Highway 76 through hill country and once again along a different route of the Upper Iowa River before returning to Waukon through the Lycurgus area and wrapping up the ride with a luncheon.
