NICC Waukon Center offering Financial and Estate Planning classes

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Business and Community Solutions is offering the class “Financial Planning for Millenials” Wednesday, August 16 from 9-11 a.m. and “Estate Planning Essentials for Everyone” Thursday, September 7 from 3-5 p.m. at the NICC Waukon Center, located at 1220 Third Avenue NW.

For “Financial Planning for Millenials,” students acknowledge that juggling student loans, credit card debt, car payments and basic living expenses can be overwhelming. However, it’s critical not to let saving for the future fall off the radar. This course offers tips to help set financial goals, learn about savings and investments, and understand employer retirement programs. The sooner someone becomes familiar with 401K, Roth and traditional IRAs (individual retirement accounts), the better positioned they are to control their financial futures. Students at the Waukon location will be participating via web-based video conference transmitted from the host location in Manchester.

While taking “Estate Planning Essentials for Everyone,” students may find it uncomfortable to think about matters of the estate but ultimately need to do what is best for everyone involved by exploring the fundamentals of estate planning. No matter the age or income, estate planning is a necessity in every economic time. Community members who register will gather the  tools they need to get organized with the help of an advisor.
