Waukon bowling teams post best seasons ever with division titles in their conference

The 2019-2020 Waukon bowling teams each played to their best records once again this season, earning some first-time accolades in the process. The Waukon girls bowled to a second consecutive 4-5 season mark that is the best in the program’s young history, but within that overall record is a 4-1 effort that earned the Lady Indians a share of the Eastern Division championship in their North Central Bowling Conference. Likewise, the Indian bowling boys rolled to their best season ever with an 8-1 season record that included an undefeated, 5-0 mark that gave them the outright championship in the Eastern Division of their North Central Bowling Conference.

“We had very successful seasons for both of our programs this season,” Waukon bowling coach Jerry Keenan said. “We set new high team scores for both the boys and girls, and had several new individual high games and series along the way. We know where we need and want to be for next season and the group is willing to put in the effort.  This season was the largest number of bowlers that we had out (30). We were able to create some competition and develop some depth to the program. We had several JV meets and that will only help our program.”
