Carol Bahr

Carol A. Bahr, 74, of Waukon died Monday, April 13, 2020 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. Services will be held at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements for the family. Condolences can be sent to Jenny Bahr Kugel at 40 West Main Street, Apartment 203, Waukon, IA 52172.

Carol Ann Bahr was born January 21, 1946 in Waukon, the daughter of Carl and Marian (Dahlen) Moen. She was baptized and confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church in rural Decorah and graduated from Waukon High School in 1964. May 14, 1966, she married Gary Bahr at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Carol was a bookkeeper for several businesses in Waukon and Hammel Jewelers in Decorah.

Carol was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, where she was active in the women’s fellowship and served as a past treasurer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially playing cards and board games. Carol also enjoyed reading, watching sports, sewing, crafts and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Bahr of Waukon; her children: Jennifer Bahr Kugel and Jason (Melissa) Bahr, both of Waukon, and Jeffrey Bahr of Onalaska, WI; five granddaughters: Hope, Alexis and Alivia Bahr, Hayley Miller and Willow Kaiser; two sisters: Deloris Vlasek of Cedar Rapids and Darlene (Gordon) Kaeser of Waukon; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ileen (Louis) Wedo; two brothers, Harlan and James Moen; a brother-in-law, Edward Vlasek; her father- and mother-in-law, Charles and Helen Bahr; and a nephew, Mark Kaeser.
