Kee softball team secures first win of the season, 6-4 over Oelwein, amid four-game series at North Fayette Valley Tournament and after narrow home loss to Crestwood

The Kee softball team played five games this past week, beginning with a slower, single-game start to the week before finishing with four games in just over 24 hours at the two-day North Fayette Valley Tournament to end the week. The Lady Hawks began that stretch battling Class 3A Crestwood to just an 8-7 loss at home Tuesday, May 28 before falling in two games Friday, May 31 at that weekend tournament, 4-0 to Edgewood-Colesburg and 6-0 to Don Bosco, and then splitting two Saturday, June 1 games, including a 6-4 win over Oelwein for their first victory of this young season and a 14-0 loss to previously-ranked Class 2A Osage in three innings of play.

The Lady Hawks were next scheduled to host Central Elkader Wednesday, June 5 and play in the Riceville Tournament Saturday, June 8. They will then play at Postville Monday, June 10 and at Marquette Catholic Tuesday, June 11 before hosting Clayton Ridge Wednesday, June 12 and then playing in the two-day West Delaware Invitational Tournament in Manchester Friday and Saturday, June 14-15.
