Home ›Kee baseball team sweeps fellow Allamakee County teams, falls to South Winn at MLB venue and wins CR-B Tournament
Playing another busy week of six games over a span of five days, the Kee baseball team put all but one of those half dozen contests in the win column this week to improve to a 9-3 season record that includes a 2-1 start to the Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) season. The Hawks opened this past week with a home doubleheader sweep of Postville Tuesday, May 28, 15-0 in three innings and 15-5 in five innings, before also defeating Waukon at home, 2-0, Wednesday, May 29. Kee suffered its only loss of the week, 7-2, in a UIC matchup with South Winneshiek played at the home of the Minnesota Twins, Target Field in Minneapolis, MN, Thursday, May 30, and then swept two games played in the Coon Rapids-Bayard Tournament Saturday, June 1, defeating Pleasantville by a 6-2 result in game one before clinching the tournament title with a 12-6 win over the host school, Coon Rapids-Bayard.
Another busy week for the Hawks had them next scheduled to play at Clayton Ridge Monday, June 3 and at North Fayette Valley Tuesday, June 4 before hosting Nashua-Plainfield Wednesday, June 5 and MFL/MarMac Thursday, June 6 and then playing in the St. Ansgar Tournament Saturday, June 8. Kee’s boys will then host Turkey Valley Monday, June 10, play Postville Thursday, June 13 and take on Moravia in a varsity matinee doubleheader Saturday, June 15 at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids.
