Kee football team returns 13 letterwinning veterans to bolster a 2024 team looking to improve on last season’s 5-4 grid campaign

The Kee football team will look to continue its most recent trend of growth and improvement as it approaches its 2024 campaign. After playing to a season record of 5-4 and an Eight-Player Play-Off berth last fall, the Hawks will benefit from more than half of their players this fall returning with varsity letterwinning experience from last season’s efforts that resulted in winning just over half their games.

This season’s 13 returning veterans come from all three return-eligible grade levels to lead a squad of 22 young men that shows fairly even balance between all four high school grade levels. About half of that varsity veteran experience comes from a senior half dozen that has made significant contributions to the Kee grid program in multiple seasons, including Jordan Cota, Parker Leppert, Dalton Mudderman, Jarod Reams, Carter Seitz and Karsen Strong. Adding further experience to that returning core will be juniors Noah Connelly, Zach Goetzinger, Sam Janzen, Kyle Mauss and Zach Meyer, as well as sophomores Trey Cota and Tanner Troendle.

“We return some very experienced players that have quite a bit of playing time under their belts,” Kee head football coach Chad Winters said. “Their leadership is crucial to our improvement throughout the season. How they consistently display positive effort and attitude will have a huge bearing on how we progress throughout the season. They know what is expected of them, now they have to do it!”

Each of those returning veterans has his own specialty area where his best contributions have been made in a Kee grid uniform. It is the combination of those experienced specialties that seem to have made for a well-rounded headstart to this fall’s campaign.
