Kee football team’s strong start to an 18-0 early edge erodes away to a 50-18 District 4 loss at Springville

A strong start to their Friday, October 3 District 4 match-up at Springville looked to have the Kee football team in position to create its first win streak of the season, as the Hawks erupted to an 18-0 headstart over the host Orioles within the game’s first six minutes after capitalizing on three consecutive turnovers to start the game. However, Kee’s grid squad returned that turnover favor throughout the game’s remaining three-and-a-half quarters, with the host squad also scoring on three of those miscues while also racking up four scoring plays of 40 yards or more to completely turn the tables on that initial Hawk headstart and deal Kee a 50-18 defeat.

Now holding a 2-4 season record and a 1-4 mark in District 4 play, the Hawks will play one final home game this Friday, October 10 when Central City comes to Lansing for a Senior Night match-up. The Wildcats bring just a 1-5 record into Friday’s contest, with that lone win coming in non-district action against Green Mountain-Garwin, 60-58, in Week 3 of this season. They come off another high-scoring affair from this past week, playing Calamus-Wheatland to just a 70-68 loss at home this past Friday.
