Kee football team wraps up District 4 and regular season home schedule with 52-36 victory over Central City fueled by Hawks’ strong second half

The final home game originally scheduled for this 2025 season for the Kee football team saw the Hawks play host to a Central City team still in search of its first win in Eight-Player District 4 play and having just one win to its credit this fall as the two teams took to the field Friday, October 10 in Lansing. Even with the football Hawks having had a greater level of success against the common opponents the two teams have both faced this fall, Kee’s gridders couldn’t quite distance themselves too much from that Central City squad in the game’s first half, playing to a 22-22 tie late in the second quarter, but they eventually took better control of the game in the second half to end their regular season home schedule with a 52-36 triumph over the Wildcats.
Improving to a 3-4 season record with the win that includes a 2-4 final mark in District 4 play that currently has them in fifth place in those District 4 standings, the Hawks are scheduled to wrap up their regular season with a non-district game at West Central this Friday, October 17. The Blue Devils are yet winless on the season with their closest game so far this fall being a 42-20 loss at Cedar Ridge Christian (formerly Waterloo Christian) and West Central’s biggest loss being a 74-0 loss at Don Bosco. In more of a comparison to the Hawks, the Blue Devils suffered a 74-28 season-opening loss at Central Elkader, a team the Hawks fell to by just a 36-28 result, and West Central also fell by a 44-0 margin to Tripoli, a team Kee opened the season with by posting a 52-29 victory.
