Waukon boys basketball team’s two wins in three games include home UIC victories over South Winn, 56-53, and MFL/MarMac, 51-36, before 53-41 loss to 3A #7 Wahlert

The Waukon boys basketball team played through a busy week of three games this past week, winning two of those three contests to first extend another win streak to six games before suffering just its second loss of this season. The Indians opened the week with a 56-53 home triumph over South Winneshiek Tuesday, January 20 in a battle for sole possession of second place in the Upper Iowa Conference (UIC) standings before recording another UIC victory at home, 51-36, over MFL/MarMac Thursday, January 22 in a game moved ahead one day from its originally scheduled date of Friday, January 23 due to frigid winter weather. The Indians were then dealt just their second loss of this season, but it took a Class 3A seventh-rated squad to accomplish that feat, as the Tribe fell to Dubuque Wahlert, 53-41, Saturday, January 24 in the Upper Iowa University (UIU) Shootout at Fayette.

The Indians were next scheduled to play at New Hampton Tuesday, January 27 before playing at Charles City Friday, January 30. They will then host Crestwood Tuesday, February 3 in what could be a showdown for Upper Iowa Conference Large School honors and then Decorah Thursday, February 5 before playing at North Fayette Valley Friday, February 6.
