In what turned out to be its only competition of this past week, the Kee girls basketball team was riding a four-game win streak over the past week-plus and continued to ride that recent wave to their highest single-game total of this season in a 71-28 home victory Tuesday, January 20. Bolting to a 25-9 headstart by the end of the first period, Kee never let a winless West Central squad score more than 10 points in any of the game’s four quarters, including a scoreless fourth quarter.
The Lady Hawks were also scheduled to play at East Buchanan Monday, January 19 and at Turkey Valley Friday, January 23, a game that was initially moved to Thursday, January 22 due to forecasted cold weather. That frigid weather made an even earlier appearance and forced postponement of that Turkey Valley game to a date yet to be determined as of press time for this week’s edition of The Standard. The East Buchanan game was scheduled to be made up Monday, January 26.
Kee’s girls are next scheduled to host Edgewood-Colesburg this Thursday, January 29. They will then play at Central Elkader Tuesday, February 3 and at home against Spring Grove, MN Thursday, February 5 before hosting Clayton Ridge Friday, February 6.
