EACSD Board of Directors approves fees among other preparations for the upcoming school year

The Eastern Allamakee Community School District (EACSD) Board of Directors met in regular session Monday evening, July 13, at Kee High School. Board President Arla Wagner called the meeting to order with board members Heather Lutz, Joe Manning and Tommy Martin present and Glen Delaney absent. District administrators attending included Superintendent Jay Mathis, Board Secretary/Financial Clerk Michele Martin, and Associate Principal/Special Education Director Liz Hill.

The board approved the meeting agenda. No visitors offered public comment. Consent items which included the past month’s  minutes, financial reports, activity and food service reports, and monthly bills were reviewed and approved.

In personnel matters, Kelly Welsh was approved to take on the role of varsity volleyball coach for the upcoming season. The board also approved fire alarm system upgrades. The work will be done by two contractors: Mauss Electric, at a cost of $35,952.53, and Ban-Koe System Group, at a cost of $35,805.62.

The LP bid was approved for AgVantage LP at a rate of $1.19 per gallon. Milk and bread bids were also approved with Prairie Farms and Pan-O-Gold, respectively.
