Allamakee County Economic Development & Tourism (ACED) has announced the addition of Jenny Byrnes in a new role of Communications Coordinator for the organization. The new position focuses on building business relationships while marketing for ACED and its members, in addition to marketing tourism opportunities within Allamakee County.

“I am excited to welcome Jenny Byrnes to Allamakee County Economic Development & Tourism as Communications Coordinator,” shared Allamakee County Economic Development & Tourism Executive Director Val Reinke. “Jenny’s experience brings fresh insight into building and supporting membership, along with a creative edge to enhance ACED’s communication efforts.”

Reinke explains that she and Byrnes will provide a team effort to bring more value to all ACED members, and either one can be contacted in regard to ACED matters. With a further focus on social media, websites and  building business profiles, the new position is expected to bring added value to ACED members and further support to Allamakee County.

“This position serves as a critical partner in advancing the organization’s communications, member engagement, operational effectiveness and strategic initiatives,” ACED leaders shared. “This position is responsible for coordinating organizational communications, digital marketing, supporting key programs and events, and fostering positive relationships with members, stakeholders and the community.”

Byrnes has called Allamakee County home her entire life. It’s where she grew up, built her career, got married, and is now raising her family. For more than 15 years, she has owned and operated JN Byrnes Films, her own photography business, later expanding into videography.

“My work has allowed me to meet and build relationships with countless individuals, families, couples and local businesses across the county, giving me a unique perspective on the people and stories that make this community special,” Byrnes shared.

She will now bring that experience into an additional role as Communication Coordinator for Allamakee County Economic Development. With a passion for creative storytelling and a background in marketing, client relationships, communication and working with local businesses, she sees this as an exciting opportunity to use the skills she has developed as a small business owner in a new way.

“My career has taught me the value of telling a good story and, just as importantly, knowing how to share it with the right audience,” Byrnes noted. “I am looking forward to helping showcase the businesses, communities, events and people that make Allamakee County a great place to live, work and visit.”

Outside of work, Byrnes is a wife and mom, and she says her family keeps life interesting in all the best ways. They share a love for the great outdoors and enjoy taking advantage of the many opportunities right here in Allamakee County, including riding dirt bikes, hiking, kayaking, camping and snowboarding.

Byrnes says she is excited about this opportunity to continue growing, meeting new people and building relationships throughout the county. She looks forward to bringing her creativity, entrepreneurial experience and love for the community to Allamakee County Economic Development.
