The descendants of Johann Meiners (ca 1665) will be meeting for the first time at the Eitzen Community Center in Eitzen, MN Sunday, July 8 from 2-5 p.m. Those whose last name is Meiners or who have an ancestor by that name are invited.

Abigail Byrnes and Kacey Nuehring of Lansing announce the birth of their son, Creed Alan Nuehring, born June 15, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 12.2 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Grant and Heather Nuehring of Lansing, Barbara Byrnes of Harpers Ferry and Wayne Byrnes of Waukon.

Jeremy and Heather Hills of Postville announce the birth of their son, Brysen Dale Hills, born June 13, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Jaxon (1).

Grandparents are Todd and Marlene Hills of Waukon, Brian and Krista Thomas of Elgin, and Dean Butikofer and Jean Thomas of Elgin. Great-grandparents are Ron and Evelyn Hills of Elgin, Lorraine and Judy Taake of Elkader, Mary Moyle of Wadena and Woody and Kay Thomas of Wadena.

The Waukon High School Class of 1961 will meet Friday, June 22 at 11:30 a.m. at Gus & Tony’s in Waukon. Note this is the fourth Friday of the month. All classmates are invited.

Dr. Bill and Libby Withers of Waukon will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary June 24. B.R. Withers and Elizabeth Hale were married in 1958 at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon in a chapel service officiated by Rev. William Tjaden.

Robert and Joy Hansmeier of Waukon will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary June 29. The couple married June 29, 1958 at the Methodist Church in Dumont. They have two daughters, Cheryl (Alan) Abel of Martinez, CA and Lori (Brian) Smith of Byron, IL, and two grandsons, Marc Smith of Willmar, MN and Scott Smith of Pekin, IL.

Tony and Jen D’Alessandro of Cedar Falls announce the birth of their daughter, Kylie Mae D’Alessandro, born May 7, 2018 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She weighed 8 lbs. 3 ozs. and measured 19-3/4 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Dave and Cheryl Brandt of Waukon and Dan and Pat D’Alessandro of LeClaire. Great-grandparents are Yvonne Brandt of Waukon and Norbert and Eileen Lembke of Monona.

Margaret  Ferring of Lansing will be celebrating her 90th birthday June 17.
