Matt and Shelby Preston of Guttenberg announce the birth of their daughter, Harper Kayla Preston, born February 16, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Eleanora (15 months).

Grandparents are Rich and Deb Preston of Guttenberg and David and Karla Hammel of Dorchester.

Joe and Jenny Mohn of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their daughter, Jaidyn Elizabeth Mohn, born February 11, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Austyn (6), Easton (5), Dylan (2) and Brooklin (1).

Grandparents are Nick and Lois Jones of Waukon and Ralph and Dianne Mohn of Harpers Ferry. Florence Jones of Harpers Ferry is a great-grandparent.

Brett Cota and Paige Nelson of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Everly Julaine Cota, born February 9, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 9 lbs. 7 ozs. and measured 23 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Paul Nelson of Fredericksburg, Jamie and Penney Neuzil of Fort Atkinson and Brian and Karen Cota of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Rich and June Cota of Waukon, Mary and the late Gary Johnson of Waukon, Dale and Jan Nelson of Fredericksburg, Julie Nelson of Cedar Falls and Dan and Ethie Neuzil of Fort Atkinson.
 

Justin Jones and Brianna Halverson of Postville announce the birth of their son, Cyrus Walter Jones, born February 9, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Madyson (13), Haylie (10), Jayden (8), Dawson (4) and Wesley (2).

Grandparents are Sam and Nikki Jones of Waukon, Deb and Chris Funk of Elkader, Melody and Dennis Moose of McGregor, and Bill Halverson and Cathie McGuire of McGregor. Great-grandparents are Walter and Janice Kurth of Waukon.
 

Jay George Fruechte and Jaquelyne Resende de Miranda Moraes eloped Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Stone Quarry in New Albin.

The bride’s parents are Denllson Xavier and Luciana Miranda of Goiania, Brazil. The bride has been employed at Cargill in Brazil as a Logistics Analyst.

The groom’s parents are Barry and Lisa Fruechte of New Albin. The groom is employed at Principal Financial Group of Des Moines as a Business Analyst.

Cole Deike of Frontier Church in Des Moines presided over the ceremony. The bride wore a short white dress and carried red roses and lilies. Witnesses for the couple were Betsy Whitlatch, sister of the groom, and T.J. Treptau, friend of the couple.

The Waukon High School Class of 1961will meet February 24 at 11:30 a.m. at Gus & Tony’s. All classmates are invited.

David Gyorko and Jennifer Kassinger of McGregor announce the birth of their son, Sullivan Wayne Gyorko, born February 1, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 21-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Bethanee (15), Skylar (13), Zayne (9), Kristopher (9) and Cragar (8).

Grandparents are Shane Bartholomew and Sue Hageman of McGregor, Angie Gyorko of Hawkeye and Allen Gyorko of Confluence, PA.

Chad and Heather Bettmann of Luana announce the birth of their son, Andrew James Bettmann, born February 1, 2017 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Liliana (4) and Miles (2).

Grandparents are Brad and Cheryl Freilinger of Monona and Darwin and Mary Bettmann of Aberdeen, SD. June Freilinger of Monona is a great-grandparent.
