Lela McShane

Lela Jane McShane, 83, of Luana passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI. Funeral Services were held Saturday, December 21 at Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona, with Rev. Dennis Hopes as the Officiant. Interment was held in the Sixteen Cemetery, rural Monona.
Jane was born May 1, 1930 to Leslie and Katie Borret (Oherle) Nichols in rural Monona. They lived in the rural Big Foot area for a few years and then moved to the Sixteen Area. Jane attended grade school in Sixteen at Linton #4. She attended Waterville High School.
Jane was united in marriage to Donald McShane October 21, 1947 at the Luana Methodist Church in Luana. To this union two children were born, Tonya Jane and Kevin Blake. Jane worked as a Postal Clerk in Luana and also worked in fashion merchandise in Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. Jane worked for 3M in Prairie du Chien, WI the last 25 years before retiring in 1992. She enjoyed raising her family and teaching Sunday and Bible School at the Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona. After retiring, Jane loved to crochet, embroider, quilt and she spent time gardening.
Jane is survived by her two children, Tonya (Robert) McShane Hardy of Malibu, CA and Kevin (Debra) McShane of Mobile, AL; two granddaughters, Kelly (Brent) Greenwald and Katie McShane; and two great-grand daughters, Lauren McShane Greenwald and Addie McShane Greenwald.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Clark; and one sister, Beatrice (Vincent) Ambrose.
Memorials may be made in Jane’s honor to the MFL Ambulance Service. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.graufuneralhomes.com.
