Captain Laura Marie Larson, age 46, of Omaha, NE died May 9, 2014 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE battling ovarian cancer. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for this Saturday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Steven R. Topel, 59, of Waukon died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at his home in Waukon. Funeral services were held Monday, May 26 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor Grant VanderVelden officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Sixteen Cemetery, rural Monona.

Patrick J. Rea, 56, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waukon, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at his home in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon. A memorial service at the funeral home will follow the visitation.

Grant J. Marti, 92, of Dubuque passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque surrounded by his loving family. Services were held Saturday, May 24 at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home in Dubuque with the Rev. Larry Stark officiating. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque with Military Honors accorded by the American Legion Post #6.

Donald Melvin Anderson, age 78, of Tacoma, WA passed away May 9, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will take place and ashes will be placed at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington May 21.
Donald was born June 18, 1935 in Waukon, the son of Melvin J. and Ruth E. (Bell Selberg) Anderson. He was a 1953 graduate of Waukon High School.

Larry Lee Lange, age 50, of Waukon died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, June 7 at 1 p.m. at the Sweeney Shelter in the Waukon City Park. Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements.

Steven R. “Steve” Wetch, age 56, of Lansing passed away unexpectedly while visiting his mother in Wauwatosa WI May 12, 2014. A visitation will be held at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 West North Avenue in Wauwatosa, WI Wednesday, May 21 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
He was born September 10, 1957 in Milwaukee, WI, the loving son of Carole and the late Martin Wetch. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Norma “Jean” Sweeney, 81, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday morning, May 15, 2014 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. A Funeral Mass was held Monday, May 19 at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial was in Saint John’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
