Ruth Waldron

Ruth D. Waldron, 88, of Waukon died Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, both in Waukon. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon where there will be a 3:45 p.m. scripture service. Memorials may be given to St. Patrick Church or St. Patrick School.

Diantha Junker

Diantha Kaye (Buss) Junker, 62, of Mason City arrived home Saturday March 1, 2014, greeted by her Saviour, Jesus Christ, and her precious daughter, Jennifer. Funeral services were held March 4 at the Faith Baptist Church in Mason City.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lansing. Refreshments and a time of fellowship will follow at the Village Creek Bible Camp, 1588 Drake Road, Lansing.

Joann K. Schwartzhoff, 61, of Dorchester entered into eternal life following a brief, courageous battle with cancer Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Fr. Jim Dubert officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dorchester.

Carlyn Johanningmeier

Carlyn Johanningmeier, 74, of Luana died early Thursday morning, April 10, 2014 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family. He died as he lived, with determination and strong will. A Memorial Service was held Monday, April 14 at the Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Lloyd "Bud" Hilleshiem, Jr.

Lloyd J. “Bud” Hilleshiem, Jr., 62, of Palo, formerly of Waterville, crossed the great divide at his home surrounded by his daughters and wife Saturday, March 29, 2014 following a courageous battle with esophageal cancer and is now sitting on his throne in Heaven. Services were held Wednesday, April 2 at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, officiated by Pastor Dan Wiersema. Burial was in Palo Cemetery.

Robert Williams

Robert L. Williams, 79, of Little Rock, AR passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014. Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 9 at Hockenberry Cemetery in Tichnor, AR.
Robert was born in Waukon May 14, 1934 to John and Alice (McCabe) Williams. He was a retired Economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics in Washington, D.C. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1959, where he was an Interpreter in France. Robert was a graduate of Loras College in Dubuque and attended Law School at Loyola College in Chicago, IL.

Frank Boese

Frank F. Boese, 76, of Waukon died Monday, April 7, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at the Postville Cemetery, Postville.
Frank Frederick, the son of Robert and Dorothy (Freeman) Boese, was born October 16, 1937 in Postville. He attended Postville Schools.  Frank worked as a custodian for 12 years at the Northgate Nursing Home in Waukon. He also worked for several years at Iowa Turkey Products in Postville. In the fall of 1992, Frank started working at the Recycling Center in Waukon.

Robert Kester, 95, of New Albin died Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the New Albin Community Center, New Albin. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Albin with military honors. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16 from 5-8 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center, New Albin, and one hour before services Thursday, April 17.

Charlene Stallman

Charlene Ann Stallman, 73, of Fairfax died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends Friday, April 4, 2014. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, April 8 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fairfax with the Rev. Dustin Vu officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery, rural Fairfax.
Charlene was born December 1, 1940 in Lansing, the daughter of Irvin and Pearl (Hurley) Rettinger. She graduated from St. George Catholic High School, Class of 1959.

Harold Steege

Harold H. Steege, 93, of Lansing, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Thorton Manor Nursing Center in Lansing. Services were held Friday, April 11 at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial at Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo.
Harold was born March 3, 1921 in Readlyn, the son of Fred and Caroline (Moeller) Steege. Harold married Virginia Gehring July 18, 1943 in Waverly. She preceded him in death March 18, 1986. Harold farmed with his family in the Dunkerton and Waverly area and later worked for Mead Containers in Waterloo for 32 years, retiring in 1984.
