Elberta Shultice, 80, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2009 at her home. Funeral services were held Monday, August 24 at Bethany Reformed Church, 720 NE 52nd Avenue, Des Moines, with Rev. Todd Rempe officiating. Burial followed at Bondurant Cemetery.

Virginia M. Gremm of Waukon, age 91, passed away Friday, August 21 in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 25 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon with Father Joe Schneider officiating. Burial was at St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Decorah, with arrangements by Hanson Funeral Home, Waukon.

Rev. Henry F. Heinbuch, age 83, of Burnsville, MN passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29 at Zion UCC of Waukon.
A retired UCC minister, he served in Scotland, SD (1949-1957), Milwaukee, WI (1957-1971), and Waukon (1971-1991) before retiring to the Twin Cities area.

Amber Lynn Wolf, 32, of Moline, IL died Sunday, August 2, 2009 after a two-year battle with cancer, surrounded by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 22 at 1 p.m. at Ben Butterworth Parkway West Shelter, Moline, IL. Memorials can be directed to the family. Leo E. Brandt, of Paradise, Texas, and formerly of Waukon, died Monday, January 24, 2005, at the North Dallas VA Hospital in Lancaster, Texas, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27, at the Hawkins Funeral Chapel, Bridgeport, Texas, with Rev. Craig Erb officiating. Interment was at DFW National Cemetery.

Leo was born January 19, 1947, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Mary Urell Brandt. He graduated from Waukon Senior High in 1965. In 1966, he joined the US Army and served in Vietnam.
