Loma Pearl Nykkanen, 71, of Waukon passed away in the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru Thursday, November 5, 2009, due to lung failure. Services will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Waukon Saturday, November 21 at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Robert W. “Bob” Fritz, 79, of Waukon died Saturday November 14, 2009 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, following a courageous 11-month battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 18 from 4-7 p.m. at Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Charles William Schaller, Jr., 75, of Waukon died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at his home in Waukon. Funeral services were held Monday, November 16 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Joseph Schneider and Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial with military graveside rites was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon.

Elizabeth “Betty” Hill, 83, of Waukon died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 17 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon, with Rev. Lynn G. Groe officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.

Donald Francis Grady, age 72, of Prairie du Chien, WI passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7 at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, WI with Rev. James Weighner officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in New Albin.

Teressa “Teddy” J. Protsman, 79, a resident of the Meth-Wick Community in Cedar Rapids, died there Monday, November 9, 2009. Funeral services were held Monday, November 16 in Kenwood Park United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, with Rev. Laura Smith officiating.

Cora Tangen, age 96, of Waukon, formerly of Decorah, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon after a long illness. Funeral service was held Monday, November 16 at Decorah Lutheran Church, Decorah, with Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah.

Muriel Adeline Cooper, 99, of Waukon died Monday, November 9, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 14 at United Methodist Church in Lansing, with Pastor Steve Hubbell officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing.

Muriel Cooper, age 99, of Waukon died Monday morning, November 9, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Services are pending at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
