Jim L. Egan, 57, of Harpers Ferry died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at his home in rural Harpers Ferry. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 19 at St. Pius Catholic Church Cherry Mound in rural Harpers Ferry, with Fr. Louis Trzil and Fr. Bernard Grady officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery.

Fay Barbara (Lane) Gluck of Waukon, formerly of California, died Monday, December 14, 2009, two days after celebrating her 83rd birthday. She passed away quietly at Veterans Memorial Hospital among family and friends, after a long illness. The family has elected not to have funeral services at this time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Barbara Lane; four sisters, Vernie, Ardyce, Florence and Jacquelin; four brothers, Earl, Jessie (Jay), Claudie, and Russie; her beloved daughter, Cindy Sue Perez; and her beloved son, Randy Durwin Bernatz.

Mary Lou Halvorson, 64, of Waukon died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 19 at 1 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon, with Pastor Samantha Houser officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.

Bill Carl Moose, 23, of Monona died Saturday, December 12, 2009 near Monona following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services were held Monday, December 21 at the Living Faith United Methodist Parish, Monona. The Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiated. Burial followed in Smithfield Cemetery, rural Monona.
Casketbearers were Jordan Moose, Jared Moose, Kelby Moose, Kyle Muchow, Travis Thornton and Derrin Jones.

Minerva R. Strong, 98, of Lansing died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Thornton Manor Care Center in Lansing. Services were held Tuesday December 22, 2009 at the United Methodist Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Lansing.

Odin J. Monserud, 84, of Waukon died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Odyssey Hospice House in Mesa, AZ, while wintering in Mesa. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements.

Delores P. Martin, 83, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Dorchester, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral services were held Monday, December 14 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Richard Iles officiating. Burial was in Dorchester Methodist Cemetery, Dorchester.

Darrel Bernard Bushman, 75, of Clermont died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, November 30 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Clermont. The Rev. Dale Rausch celebrated Mass. Burial was in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Clermont.
Darrel was born April 4, 1934 in rural Festina to Raymond and Julitta (Kleve) Bushman. He attended the Festina School.

Kenneth R. Anderson, 68, of Waukon, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 6 at Center Baptist Church in Lansing, with Rev. Duane Smith officiating. Burial was at Center Baptist Cemetery, Lansing.

Joanne V. Lier, 50, of Waterville died Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Pius Cherry Mound Catholic Church in rural Harpers Ferry, with Fr. Louis Trzil officiating. Burial will be at St. Pius Cherry Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30-8 p.m. Friday, December 11 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, where there will be a 3:30 p.m. scripture service.
