Gary Edward Larson passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI from natural causes. He was soon to be 64 years old. Funeral services were held Monday, February 1 at the Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing. Interment was at the Monona Cemetery.
Gary was born February 18, 1946 to Arthur and Ivanell Schlitter Larson from Postville. Gary was confirmed at Evangelical United Brethren Church and graduated from Postville High School in 1964.  He owned Gary’s Golden Nugget in Frankville in the 70s and Gary’s Automotive since then.

Beverly J. Schaefer, 66, of Harpers Ferry died Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI. Memorial services were held Monday, February 1 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Nancy Kay Evanson, 52, of Lansing died Saturday, January 30 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3 at 11 a.m. at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waterville, with Pastor Ken Kimball officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may greet the family for one hour before the services at the church Wednesday. Martin Funeral Home of Waukon is handling arrangements.

Beacher E. Bollman, 93, of Harpers Ferry died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his home in rural Harpers Ferry. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 30 at Living Faith United Methodist Parish, Monona Center in Monona, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial with graveside military rites was held at IOOF Cemetery, Rossville.

Julie A. Schulte, 50, of Dorchester died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Monday, February 1 at St. Mary’s Dorchester Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Fr. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery.

Dr. Joseph A. Lechtenberg, 85, of Maquoketa died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 4 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Msgr. Edward Lechtenberg and Rev. James Chappel officiating.

Beacher Bollman. 93. of Harpers Ferry died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his home. Arrangements are pending with Martin Funeral Home of Waukon.

Sandra Jean (Schaller) Peake died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at home in Decorah at the age of 50, surrounded by her family. Funeral Services were held Monday, January 25 at Decorah Lutheran Church, with Rev. Wayne Hagen and Rev. Steven M. Jacobsen officiating.

Wilbur N. Marti, 84, of Waukon died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 26 at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waukon, with Pastor Ken Kimball officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Wilbur Norman Marti was born February 10, 1925 in rural Waukon, the son of Philip and Inga (Sorum) Marti. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon. Wilbur attended Jefferson #7 country school, and then helped his parents and other local farmers.

Kenneth (Jim) J. Carter, 74, of Harpers Ferry died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Funeral services were held Monday, January 25 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Richard Iles officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Mays Prairie Cemetery in rural Lansing.
