Leo  J.  Felten, age  86, of Caledonia, MN died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, January 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caledonia, MN, with Father Greg Havel officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Caledonia, MN.
Leo was born June 9, 1923 in Caledonia, MN to Mike and Agatha (Vogler) Felten. He attended the Catholic Central School in Caledonia. He had worked in the Twin Cities driving delivery truck and then during the war he did maintenance work on bombers.

William F. Spinner, age 68, of Boyne City, MI died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 12, 2010  at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital of a Pulmonary Embolus. A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 20 at Christ Lutheran Church in Boyne City, MI, with visitation being held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Kenneth Bernthal will be officiating. Christ Lutheran Church is located at 1250 Boyne Avenue (M-75 South), Boyne City, MI 49712.

Margaret H. Wiltgen, 89, of Waukon died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 16 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial was at St. Mary’s Hanover Cemetery, rural Waukon.
Margaret Helen Tierney Wiltgen was born August 29, 1920 on her parents' farm in rural Dorchester, the daughter of John and Ella (Connor) Schulte. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dorchester and attended country school in Waterloo Township rural Dorchester.

Sharon J. Wood, 70, of Waterville died Monday, January 11, 2010 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services were held Friday, January 15 at Waterville Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kris Snyder officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery.
Sharon Jean Eddy Wood was born in Lewis July 22, 1939. She was raised and later adopted by Casper and Inez (Hanson) Haugen. Sharon was confirmed at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in rural Waterville. She attended Waterville Elementary School and graduated from Waterville High School in 1957.

Gary Hove, age 72, of Decorah died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN, following a brief illness. Funeral Services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon Thursday, January 14, with Rev. Lynn G. Groe officiating. Interment was in Lincoln Cemetery, Ridgeway, where Graveside Military Rites were conducted by Lawrence Anderson American Legion Post #62, Waukon. Schluter-Balik Funeral Home of Decorah assisted the family.

Ruth Martha Shafer, 84, of Waukon, formerly of Postville, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon following a short illness. Funeral Services were held Monday, January 11 at the Schutte – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville. The Rev. Gary Catterson officiated. Burial followed in the Postville Cemetery, Postville.
Ruth was born October 10, 1925 in Ludlow Township to Carl and Martha (Goeke) Shafer. She attended Ludlow #8 Country School.

Mary Elizabeth Russell, 65, of Decorah, formerly of Ossian, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Wellington Place, Decorah following a short illness.
Mary was born June 25, 1944 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital to Gustav and Julia (Tollifson) Russell. She was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia. She lived at home until the age of seven, and then resided in a care facility until her passing. She enjoyed spending time with children and all types of animals and her dolls. Mary was a joy to the many people who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Keith Carlyle Hanson, 70, of Liberty, SC died Monday, December 29, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in Easley, SC. Funeral services to honor the life of Keith Hanson were held Monday, January 4 at East Side Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Rick Lee.  Burial with military honors was at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Sharon K. Schwartzhoff, 58, a resident of Davenport, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf after a long battle with brain cancer. Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 13 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Evelyn C. Dresselhaus, 93, of McGregor, died Saturday evening, January 2, 2010 at the Great River Care Center in McGregor.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McGregor. Friends may call one hour before services at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date this Spring.
