College Planning Tool helps families estimate cost of higher education

The College Funding Forecaster allows students to input estimated costs, expected financial aid, savings and earnings to project total out-of-pocket expenses and potential student loan amounts at the college or university of their choice. Iowa Student Loan (ISL) Liquidity Corporation provides the College Funding Forecaster at www.IowaStudentLoan.org/Forecaster.

Students and families who don’t have financial aid notifications to refer to can still use the tool, according to ISL. The College Funding Forecaster uses historical data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard to display average costs and financial aid amounts for each institution covered by the tool.

The Waukon boys golf team played through one of its busiest weeks of the season, playing three different dates and coming within just three strokes of recording an undefeated week. The Tribe linksters opened the week with a 162-176 victory over Charles City Tuesday, April 25 before edging out a 173-175 triumph at South Winneshiek Thursday, April 27.

The Indians’ lone blemish against four opponents this week came by just three strokes in a Friday, April 28 home triangular, as their 158 strokes in that event fell just a bit shy of visiting New Hampton’s  155 strokes but came in well ahead of the 188 strokes tallied by a Caledonia, MN squad also competing in the final home event for the Tribe of this 2023 spring season.

New high jump school record ... Waukon girls track junior Cameron Johnson clears the high jump bar on her way to a new school record at the track Tribe’s own Indian Relays Tuesday, April 25.
