Marissa Shelton and Garrett Cooper of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Vivian Judith Cooper, born May 19, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Corey and Trish Shelton of Waukon, Karen and Darryl Frana of Calmar and the late Kevin Cooper. Great-grandparents are Dennis and Judy Byrnes, Janice and the late Glenn Cooper, Joyce and the late Michael Regan, and the late Donald and Judith Shelton, all of Waukon.
 

Mackay and Brooke Mathis of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their son, Weller Mack Mathis, born May 20, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 21-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Wava (2).

Grandparents are Dave and Karen Mathis and Randy and Louise Wild, all of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Rupert and Martha Caballero of Waukon.
 

Christin Larkin and Kevin Bresnahan of Jewell announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Friends and family are invited to the wedding dance taking place Saturday, May 28 at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon from 7-11 p.m.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Susan Sivesind and the late Edward Larkin of Waukon and is a 1998 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2002 graduate of Luther College in Decorah. The bride-to-be is employed as an Assistant Director and Preschool Teacher at Story Book Child Care and Preschool in Story City.

The groom-to-be is the son of Patrick and Donna Bresnahan of Waukon and is a 1997 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2002 graduate of Buena Vista University. The groom-to-be is employed as a Level II/III Special Education Teacher at Fort Dodge High School in Fort Dodge.

Destiny and Leonardo Teixeira of Des Moines announce the birth of their son, Dominic Buck Welsh Teixeira, born April 21, 2022 in Des Moines. He weighed 6 lbs. 14 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Betty Welsh and the late Lloyd Welsh of Lansing and Valtier and Edneusa Teixeira of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Gary and Jean (Howes) Gilbertson of Waterville will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Gary and Jean exchanged vows May 27, 1972 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon.  A family vacation with children and grandchildren is being planned to celebrate the occasion.

They are the parents of Amy (Mark Jackson) Gilbertson of San Marcos, TX, Jessica (Adam) Krause of McCallsburg and Nick Gilbertson of Boone.  They have three grandchildren, Nora, Mia and Henry Krause.

Lorraine “Sis” Sacquitne of Decorah will be celebrating her 90th birthday with an open house Saturday, May 21 from 1-3 p.m. at the Decorah VFW, 104 State Street, Decorah, IA 52101. No gifts are requested.

Clayton and Brooke Welsh of Lansing announce the birth of their daughter, Olivia Jane Welsh, born April 12, 2022 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 ozs. and measured 19-3/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins sisters, Emery (5), Gabrielle (4) and Madelyn (18 months).

Grandparents are Deb and Jeff Olson of Iowa City, Larry and Cathy Hudson of Centerville and Gary and Kim Welsh of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Duane and Marian Meier and Esther Welsh and the late William Welsh, all of Lansing.

Carter and Jasmine Snitker of Farmersburg announce the birth of their daughter, Layne Katherine Snitker, born May 5, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Jacob Mohn and MaKenna Snitker of Farmersburg announce the birth of their daughter, Wryglie Jo Noele Mohn, born May 5, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Gracelyn Jones (8), and a brother, Brekken Mohn (3).
