Dan and Kari Ness of Cedar Rapids announce the birth of their son, Rylan Daniel Ness, born October 31, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. He weighed 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 20-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Easton (2-1/2).

Grandparents are Rodney and Linda Zitek of Cedar Rapids and Scott and Karen Ness of Waterville. Great-grandparents are Betty Zitek of Cedar Rapids, Mary Fink of Waukon and Sig and Barb Ness of Waukon. Joyce Kuhse of Postville is a great-great-grandparent.

Rachael Marie Gannon, originally of Coralville and currently residing in Decorah, and Aaron Thomas Palmer of Waukon announce their engagement and upcoming wedding scheduled to take place January 22, 2022 at Village Creek Bible Camp in rural Lansing.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mike and Denise Gannon of Coralville and is a 2008 graduate of West High School in Iowa City and a 2012 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) with a degree in elementary and middle-level math and science education. She is currently employed as the Assistant Vice President and Branch Lending Manager at FreedomBank in Decorah.

The groom-elect is the son of Greg and Marlene Palmer of Waukon and is a 2005 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2009 graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in agricultural business. He is currently employed as the Territory Sales Manager for northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota at STgenetics.
 

Pamela and Gregory Kerndt of Waukon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary November 27.

Clinton and McKayla Rethamel of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Charlee Mae Rethamel, born November 3, 2021 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Kent and Rhonda Stock of Waukon and Bob and Jeri Rethamel of New Hampton. Wanda Rogers of Fredericksburg is a great-grandparent.

Dan and Shelby Iseli of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Haddie Mae Iseli, born November 8, 2021 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 18 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Paisley (3).

Grandparents are Joel and Teresa Sommer and Arthur and Lori Iseli, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Jerry and Judy Sommer, Darlene Oesterle, and John and Mary Iseli, all of Waukon, and Donna and Dale Bodensteiner of Ossian.

Caity Johnson and Bobby Schultz exchanged wedding vows Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City with Pastor Phil Webb as officiant.

The bride’s parents are Marty and Carla Johnson of Stratford. Her grandparents are Carlene and Rolf Solbach, and the late John Bergquist and Gerald Johnson and Kayleen Rademacher and the late Kay Johnson.

The groom’s parents are Kent and Donna Schultz of Frankville. His grandparents are Doris Eglseder and the late Bob Eglseder and the late Byron and Darlene Schultz.

The bride graduated from Webster City High School and Clarkson College in Nebraska. She is employed at Winneshiek Medical Center as a Nurse Practitioner.

The groom is a graduate of Postville High School and is engaged in farming.

The couple are making their home in rural Frankville.

Ty Koehn and Jessica Hein of McGregor announce the birth of their son, Triggyn Joe Koehn, born October 27, 2021 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Tate Koehn (5).

Grandparents are Teresa Olson of Mason City, Jeff and Joan Koehn of Elkader, Randy Cook and Cindy Hein of McGregor and Roger and Danielle Hein of Blooming Prairie, MN. Walt and Kathy Horsfall of Arizona are great-grandparents.
 

Kristy Kimber of Waukon and Lloyd Little of Oelwein announce the birth of their daughter, Melody May Kimber, born November 1, 2021 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 9 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth. Loren Kimber of Waukon is a grandparent.

Steve and Donna Stortz of Waukon and Deborah and Charles Hammel of Dorchester announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Shaylie Stortz of Waukon and Kenneth Hammel of Dorchester. The couple plans to exchange vows Saturday, November 6 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon.

A dance will be open to  the public from 7:30 p.m. to midnight at the Waukon Banquet Center. The bride-to-be is a 2014 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2018 graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelors Degree in History and Political Science. She is employed as a Social Studies teacher at North Fayette Valley High School in West Union.

The groom-to-be is a 2013 graduate of Waukon High School and a 2015 graduate of Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) in Calmar with an Associates Degree in Agricultural Business. He is employed by Valley Ag in New Albin.
 

Mark and Barbara (Ferring) Howe of Waukon will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. The couple exchanged vows November 7, 1981 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon.

Their children include Justin (Ami) Howe of Oxford, Matt Howe of New Albin and Emily (Jesse) Spors of Marion. They have 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
