Donald “Jim” J. Hyde, 76, of New Albin, formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 31 at 11 a.m. at the Edgewood City Cemetery, Edgewood. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling the arrangements.

Mike Lechnir passed unexpectedly at his home and long time family farm December 20, 2014. He was born in Luana. He was 76 and is survived by a son, one grandson and two granddaughters. There will be a gathering January 3 at his home.

Carrieanne L. Larson, 41, of Waukon, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 31 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Waukon with Pastor Grant VanderVelden officiating. Burial will be at Frankville Cemetery, Frankville.

Horace Kenneth Magnusson, 95, of Lansing, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, WI. He was born  February 22, 1919 to Herman and Mattie (Carlyle) Magnusson in Lansing. Horace graduated from Lansing High School and attended Luther College.
Horace joined the United States Navy November 18, 1944, serving in World War II, where he learned the trade to become an electrician. He was honorably discharged  October 16, 1945. Horace was united in marriage with Edith Rose Roeder in 1940; she passed away in 1959. He then married Amber Rutter  June 16, 1963 at Freeman Church, rural Ferryville, WI.

Lyle E. DeBower, age 85, of Decorah, died Thursday evening, December 18, 2014 at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah with Rev. Chad Huebner officiating. Burial was at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Allison Cemetery in Allison with full military honors.    

Jackie Leroy Fish, 69, of Maquoketa, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa. Arrangements are pending at the Runge Mortuary in Davenport.

David Howard Clarke, age 67, formerly of Waukon, died peacefully at his home in Mocksville, NC  December 14, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Mocksville; his mother, Clarice Olga Balk of Eastman, WI; a brother, James, of Waukon; a brother, Charlie, of Ferryville; and a sister, Susie of Eastman, WI.
Brother Clarke served in the full-time ministry for forty years throughout the central United States and parts of the South.
A Memorial service will be held January 4 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waukon.
 

Kerry Lee "Red" Ellefson of Missouri, age 46, died Saturday, December 6, 2014. Cremation services were held in Missouri Wednesday, December 10.
Kerry Lee "Red" was born September 12, 1968 to Marilyn (Grant) Ellefson and Orlean Ellefson. Kerry was baptized and confirmed at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church.
Kerry attended school in Waukon and Waterville and received his GED at Calmar. Kerry married Joann Conroy of Missouri. He was a drywall sander for several years.
Survivors include his mother, Marilyn Ellefson; two brothers, Brian and Curtis Ellefson; three sisters, Belinda, Karla Ellefson, Tori (Ellefson) O'Neill; brother-in-law Ryan O'Neill; two step-children, Sal Valdiviez and Teresa Conway; six nieces and nephews, Dawanda, Donald Ryder, Desireé Tollefson, Dallas Ellefson, Brooke, Kyah O'Neill.

Roger W. Martin, 91, of Waukon, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his home in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Gary C. Schellhammer, 58, of Waukon, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 24, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, with Rev. Lynn G. Groe officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
