Pastor Ken Kimball, a.k.a. “PK”, of Old West and Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Churches is celebrating his 35th anniversary of ordination.

November 15, 1987, Pastor Kimball was ordained at his home church, Bricelyn Lutheran, in Bricelyn, MN.  The ordination ceremony was performed by his internship supervisor, Pastor Wally Hunstad of Chetek Lutheran, Chetek, WI.

Pastor Kimball was called to the Paint Creek Lutheran Parish - Old East and Old West Paint Creek - in August of 1994 after serving over seven years at Our Saviors Lutheran in Ackley.  Before his ordination, Pastor Kimball served a one-year internship at Chetek Lutheran in Chetek, WI and an interim call at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Manson.

Sunday, November 20, the council presidents of Old East and Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Churches will honor Pastor Kimball during worship services with an announcement to recognize this milestone.

Mike and Kaley McKee of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Adler Michael McKee, born November 6, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 4 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins twin sisters, Fern McKee and Mabel McKee (1).

Grandparents are Jack and Cindy Heffern of Harpers Ferry, Diane McKee of Waukon and Dean McKee of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Don and Joan Ewing of Lansing, Ron and Carol Opfer of Waukon, and Carol Schaefer of Lansing.

Andrew and Hannah Adney of Monona announce the birth of their son, Ashton William Adney, born November 8, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Austin Adney (16 months).

Grandparents are Aaron and Sherry Adney of McGregor and Mark and Marlene Grahn of Randolph, WI.

Gary and Marlene (Scheffert) Houg of Waukon are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. The couple married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Luana November 12, 1957.

Their family includes Wade (Barb) Houg of Plymouth, MN, Lori (Mark) Farley of Cedar Falls, Scott (Brenda) Houg of Waukon, the late Jeffrey Houg, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kyah O’Neill and Dallas Sickles of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Alexander James Sickles, born October 25, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Tori and Ryan O’Neill of Waukon and James and Christina Sickles of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Marilyn and Orlean Ellefson of Waukon, Pat and Patty O’Neill of Waukon, Nancy Mueller of Osseo, WI and Floyd Sickles of Lansing.

Maison Schoh and Lydia Gaunitz of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Everett Cody Schoh, born October 19, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 18.7 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Randy and Kristy Gaunitz and Scott and Jana Schoh, all of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Iva Gaunitz and Robert and Janet Henkel, all of Lansing.

Keri Picha of Monona announces the birth of her daughter, Maliyah Chantelle Oakley, born October 13, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Terry and Vanessa Picha of Monona. Great-grandparents are Bonnie and Al Teller of Rochester Hills, MI and Linda and Butch Picha of Marquette.

Nick and Carlyn Lechtenberg of Elgin announce the birth of their son, Ward Josey Lechtenberg, born September 21, 2022 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. He weighed 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two big brothers, Stirn (6) and Teff (4).

Grandparents are Ray and Kerry Wacker of Waukon, Craig and Jane Rood of Elgin, and the late Joe Lechtenberg of Postville. Great-grandparents are Ray and Shirley Wacker of Boscobel, WI, Edna Lechtenberg of Postville and Dale Rood of Viroqua, WI.
 

Terry and Diane (Thies) Oesterle of Waukon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple married October 14, 1972.  They will be celebrating their wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

The Confirmation Class of 1972 at Glenwood Lutheran Church in rural Decorah will be holding a 50-year reunion this Sunday, October 2. The reunion will include the 10:30 a.m. church service, which will then be followed by a potluck dinner with cake and scalloped potatoes and ham provided.
