Bob and Angie Mettille of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Rowan Edward Mettille, December 13, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs., 2.2 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two brothers, Isaiah (6) and Ian (4).
Grandparents are Jim and Connie Mettille of Lansing and Mike and Cindy Gibbs of Waterville. Great-grandparents are Arnold and Darlene Gibbs of West Union.

James and Margo Sweeney of Waukon announce the engagement of their daughter, Gina Rae, to Jeremy Curtin, son of Ron and Gail Curtin of Waukon. The couple plans to exchange vows December 31 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. A reception will be held following the ceremony at Oneota Golf and Country Club in Decorah.
The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Finance and Economics. She is currently employed at Fisk Farm and Home in Monona.
The groom-elect is a 1999 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and a 2002 graduate of Kirkwood College  with an associate’s degree in Marketing and Management. He is currently employed at Tri-State Doors in Waukon.

Jean Ann (Gleisner) and Keith W. Mason were married January 1, 1945 upon his return from Italy during WWII. Bitter cold that day, Jean Ann wore a powder blue wool suit and gardenia corsage.
They have made their home in Waukon for most of their 70 years of marriage and have raised five children (Randy, Shirley, Norman, Bill and Linda). They have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Everyone is invited to an open house in honor of Eula Thies’ 100th birthday Saturday, December 27 at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon from 1-3 p.m. She requests no gifts.

Garvin and Donna (Parsons) Larson of Ankeny will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary December 18.  They were married at the Rinard Methodist Church December 18, 1954.

Garvin was born in Waukon and graduated from Waukon High School in 1951 and from the University of Dubuque in 1955. Donna was born in Calhoun County and graduated from Rinard High School in 1951 and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Fort Dodge in 1954.

Hostrawser-

Saydee Poole and Richard Hostrawser of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Renezmae Mildred-Diane Hostrawser, December 9, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs., 3.2 ozs. and measured 18-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Harrington-

Ethan Harrington and Kari O’Connell of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Lane Daniel Harrington, December 6, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs., 11.6 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Holly (5).

Ethan and Auny Pole of Decorah announce the birth of their daughter, Oletta Karen Pole, November 30, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 9 lbs., 6 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins three siblings, Stella (6), Gus (4) and Eloise (2).
Grandparents are John and Karen Kerndt of Decorah and Brad and Rhonda Pole of Des Moines. Great-grandparents are Delbert and Eloise Bulman of Dorchester and John and Lorna Kerndt of Waukon.
 

Keith and Ashley Schwartzhoff of Lansing announce the birth of their son, Sean Thomas Schwartzhoff, December 2, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs., 14.8 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.
Grandparents are Pam and Tim Delaney of Lansing, Terry and Beth Fitzpatrick of Waukon and Stan and Dianna Schwartzhoff of Lansing.
 

Todd and Brianne Leikvold of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Gannon Patrick Leikvold, November 28, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs., 15 ozs. and measured 20-1/2” in length at the time of his birth.
Grandparents are Brian and Karen Burke of Dorchester and Lyle and Cindy Leikvold of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Keith and Fran Fahey of Waukon and LeOtia Flage of Waukon.
