Emmett and Marjorie Kruger were married November 28, 1984. They plan to celebrate the occasion of their 30th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

They have seven children, 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marlene Imhoff-Duffy of Lansing, James Duffy of La Crosse, WI and Roger Valley of La Crosse, WI, and Cynthia Opperman of Clarinda and Todd Lapel of Lansing announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children, Chandran Marie Duffy and Andrew Wayne Lapel, both of Cedar Rapids. The couple plans to exchange vows March 28, 2015 at All Saints Church in Cedar Rapids. A reception will be held following the ceremony at the DoubleTree hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids.

The family of Ruby Herman will host an open house in honor of her 80th birthday Sunday, November 30 in the Fellowship Hall at Zalmona Presbyterian Church (371 Hwy. 9, southwest of Waukon) from 11:30 a.m. (after the worship service) until 2:30 p.m. A meal will be provided. All of Ruby’s friends and family are invited to attend. Ruby’s birthday is November 21. She requests no gifts.

Kimberly Kay Gavin and Paul William Kockler were united in marriage July 26, 2014. The wedding was held at Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing with Father John Moser as officiant.

The bride is the daughter of Pat and Kay Gavin of Lansing. The groom is the son of Mike and Janelle Kockler of Altoona. 

George Huffey of Waterville will celebrate his 90th birthday November 24. He and his wife, Jean, have six children, Randy, Nancy, Dawn, Marcia, Lisa and Brad, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dan and Susie Diercks of Waukon are happy to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittany Marie Diercks, to Matthew Joseph Renshaw, son of Chuck and Laurie Renshaw of Council Bluffs. The couple plans to wed December 13 in the auditorium of Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Council Bluffs, where they met, with a reception to follow in Omaha, NE. 

Scott and Jill (Roth) Manning were married November 18, 1989 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon. They will celebrate the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house Saturday, November 15 at First Baptist Church in Waukon from 2-5 p.m. The event will be hosted by their children, Zachary and Jordan.

Cody and Jill Mathis of New Albin announce the birth of their son, Collin David Mathis, November 3, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs., 14 ozs. and measured 21-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Layla (3).

Grandparents are Wayne and Jane Meyer of New Albin, Sheri Honn of Victoria, MN and Rick Mathis of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandparents are Vivian Andregg of Waukon, Meryle Honn of Waukon, Georgianna Gavin of Lansing and Joan Meyer of New Albin.

Katie Winters of Waukon announces the birth of her daughter, Sydney Winters, November 1, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs., 7.6 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Sophia (23 months). Her grandmother is Pam Winters of Waukon.

Nick and Lana Dahlstrom of New Albin announce the birth of their son, Caleb RoDen Dahlstrom, October 2, 2014 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. He weighed 8 lbs., 6 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two siblings, Breelyn (6) and Tegan (4).
Grandparents are Roger and Joan Weymiller of New Albin and Dennis and Joan Dahlstrom of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Shirley Weymiller of New Albin, Wanda Anderson of Waukon and Norma Dahlstrom of Waukon.
