Jay and Leslie Elsbernd of Decorah announce the birth of their daughter, Marian Judy Elsbernd, December 20, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs., 4 ozs. and measured 23 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Claire (15 months).
Grandparents are Steve and Patty Elsbernd of Ridgeway and Craig and Ellen Cutting of Decorah. Great-grandmother is Alyce Reid of Waterloo.

Jessica and Colin Klang of Cedar Falls announce the birth of their daughter, Brynlyn BreAnn Klang, November 29, 2014 in Waterloo. She weighed 8 lbs., 8.2 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of her birth.
Grandparents are James and Shirley Stortz of Waukon, Randy Klang of Mason City and Charlie and Mary Harris of Mason City.

Joe Bloxham and Sara Needham of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Cody Joseph Bloxham, December 23, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs., 6.6 ozs. and measured 20-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Logan (2).
Grandparents are Randy and Julie Bloxham, Bev Needham and Jim and BevLarson-Needham, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Norma Bloxham of Waukon and Bart Needham of Des Moines.

Zachery Decker and Arael Beardmore of Dorchester announce the birth of their daughter, Briley Jo Lynn Decker, December 19, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 5 lbs., 15.8 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a brother, Braxton (3).
Grandparents are Paula and Steve Decker of Harpers Ferry and Robin and Jeff Kessel of Sayre, OK. Great-grandparents are Ron and Jo Beardmore of Dorchester, Sharon Decker of Waukon and Carlton Christianson of Waukon.

Bud and Helen Maust of New Albin will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house Saturday, January 10 at the New Albin Community Center from 2-5 p.m. They request no gifts.

Eric and Lane Rich of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Natalie Jane Rich, December 16, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs., 1.8 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Knightley (2).
Grandparents are Mark and Deb Palmer of Waukon and Dave and Vicky Rich of Algona. Great-grandparents are Wayne and Sandra Fish.

Bob and Angie Mettille of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Rowan Edward Mettille, December 13, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs., 2.2 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins two brothers, Isaiah (6) and Ian (4).
Grandparents are Jim and Connie Mettille of Lansing and Mike and Cindy Gibbs of Waterville. Great-grandparents are Arnold and Darlene Gibbs of West Union.

James and Margo Sweeney of Waukon announce the engagement of their daughter, Gina Rae, to Jeremy Curtin, son of Ron and Gail Curtin of Waukon. The couple plans to exchange vows December 31 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. A reception will be held following the ceremony at Oneota Golf and Country Club in Decorah.
The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Finance and Economics. She is currently employed at Fisk Farm and Home in Monona.
The groom-elect is a 1999 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and a 2002 graduate of Kirkwood College  with an associate’s degree in Marketing and Management. He is currently employed at Tri-State Doors in Waukon.

Jean Ann (Gleisner) and Keith W. Mason were married January 1, 1945 upon his return from Italy during WWII. Bitter cold that day, Jean Ann wore a powder blue wool suit and gardenia corsage.
They have made their home in Waukon for most of their 70 years of marriage and have raised five children (Randy, Shirley, Norman, Bill and Linda). They have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Everyone is invited to an open house in honor of Eula Thies’ 100th birthday Saturday, December 27 at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon from 1-3 p.m. She requests no gifts.
