Brea Benjegerdes and Dillan Boydston of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Knoxlynn Marie Benjegerdes, born September 12, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 17-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Keaton Boydston (19), Alissah Boydston (18) and Brynn Benjegerdes (5).

Grandparents are Pam Benjegerdes of Waukon, Greg and Becky Benjegerdes of Waukon, and Tammy Hansen of Castalia.

The Waukon High School Class of 1982 will be celebrating its 40th class reunion September 23 and 24. Friday, September 23, classmates will meet at 1 p.m. at the old Heimer’s parking lot (currently First Baptist Church) to walk or ride in the Homecoming Parade. The float banner says “Go Indians from the Class of 1982!” Attend the game or go to AJ Steakhouse to socialize that night.

Saturday, September 24, gather at Green Valley Getaway at 5 p.m., drinks can be purchased, free will donation for pizza. Bring a lawn chair to relax on the lawn.

The Waukon Class of 1982 would also like to remember its classmates by sponsoring the lighting of the Black Hawk Bridge in Lansing Saturday. The class wants to honor those who could not celebrate the 40th class reunion with their classmates, noting they will always be remembered and their families are sent thoughts and prayers.
 

Vernon and Eilene (Moody) Cooper of Lansing are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple married September 22, 1962. They will be celebrating their anniversary with a family dinner.

They have five children, Deb (Dan) Windfield, Wayne (Tammy) Cooper, Vicky (the late Scott) Hill, Ron (Angie) Cooper and Brenda (Scott) Schorr. The couple is blessed with 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Brody and Kayla Vanderkolk of Waterville announce the birth of their son, Krue Benjamin Vanderkolk, born August 19, 2022 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. He weighed 7 lbs. 9 ozs. and measured 22 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Lisa and Mark Vanderkolk of Waterville, Tanya and Kyle Hebrink of Northwood and Jon and Brandy Branstad of Nora Springs.

Paul Horsfall of Lansing will be celebrating his 90th birthday September 11 with a card shower.

Brody and Jessica Wells of Johnston announce the birth of their twin sons, Brooks Kent Wells and Blaise William Wells, born August 11, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in West Des Moines. Brooks weighed 6 lbs. and measured 18-1/2 inches in length and Blaise weighed 6 lbs. 2 ozs. and measured 19-1/4 inches in length at their births. They join two siblings, Matthew and Mackenzie Wells.

Grandparents are Kent and Donna Schultz of Frankville and Bill and Linda Wells of Ellston. Great-grandmothers are Doris Eglseder of Waukon and Sylvia Wells of Traer.

Treven and Bailey Davidson of Dorchester announce the birth of their daughter, Colette Idella Davidson, born August 25, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 18-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Gatton Paul (3) and Starlee Jo (2).

Grandparents are Jeremy and Heather Rissman, Paul and Kathy Howes, and Tony Beneke, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Karen and Terry Mulholland, Jane Rissman, Lori Thies and Reggie Rissman.

Ervin and Barbara Borntrager of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Katelyn Fern Borntrager, born August 24, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a sister, Kaylene Rose (15 months).
