Rep. Ruff, Sen. Breitbach hold town hall meeting in Lansing

Area residents gathered at Meehan Memorial Lansing Public Library Saturday morning, April 13 for a town hall meeting with State Senator Mike Breitbach and State Representative Patti Ruff. Much of the discussion focused on the proposed closure of the Luster Heights Correctional Facility, which Breitbach said he has been working hard to keep open.

Member of Rep. Bruce Braley's staff to hold office hours in Waukon April 23

John Murphy, District Director for U.S. Representative Bruce Braley, will travel to Waukon Tuesday, April 23 to hold office hours open to the general public. Murphy will be at Robey Memorial Library, 401 First Avenue NW in Waukon, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 23 to meet with Iowans to discuss Braley’s work, answer questions, and provide assistance to constituents needing help from a federal agency, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Social Security Administration.

Allamakee County Community Foundation awards $78,000 in grants to 16 non-profit groups

The future Driftless Area Education and Visitor Center in Lansing, the Main Feature Theater Projector Project in Waukon and the Kee High School Softball/Baseball Field Renovation Project in New Albin each will be benefitting from large grants given by the Allamakee County Community Foundation (ACCF) during this year’s cycle of grant funding. All of these programs will receive over $10,000 in funding, the most ever awarded by the ACCF.

Rep. Patti Ruff, Sen. Michael Breitbach to host legislative forum in Lansing this Saturday

Representative Patti Ruff of Iowa House District 56 and Senator Michael Breitbach of District 28 will be hosting a legislative forum this Saturday, April 13 at the Meehan Memorial Lansing Public Library in Lansing. The forum will begin at 10 a.m. and is open to the general public. Rep. Ruff and Sen. Breitbach will also be at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Marquette Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.
