Rita Ann Schulte, 83, of New Albin passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at Gundersen Lutheran Health Systems in La Crosse, WI. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, December 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Albin, with Rev. John Moser as the Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in New Albin.
Rita was born May 23, 1930 to Joseph and Florence (Lager) Kelly in La Crosse, WI. She graduated from New Albin High School in 1948.

John W. Brazell, 90, of Harpers Ferry died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ann's - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, with Fr. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Paint Rock Cemetery in Harpers Ferry. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.

Amy Monroe, age 38, of Decorah died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her parents’ home near Castalia following a courageous battle with cancer. A Service of Death and Resurrection was held Monday, December 2 at First United Methodist Church in Decorah, with Rev. John Caldwell officiating. Interment was in Centennial Cemetery, Castalia.

L. John Flage, M.D., 82 years old, of Independence died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 12 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, with Pastor Greg DeBoer officiating. Committal Services will be held at the Cremation Garden at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Dwayne L. Johnson, 72, of Elgin passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union. Dwayne Lester, the son of Oscar R. and Thelma (Wilke) Johnson, was born April 25, 1941 at the Bakkum Hospital in Waukon. He attended country school in Allamakee County.
