Robert J. (Bob) and Agnes (Johnson) Anderson of Waukon will be celebrating their 73rd wedding anniversary. The couple was married at St. John’s Lutheran Church August 11, 1946.

They are the parents of three children: Linda (Dean) Krambeer of Pine Island, MN, Larry (Maggie) Anderson of Brainerd, MN and Lori (Randy) Hesse of Waukon. They are the grandparents of Cori, Dena, Tom, Russ, Josh, Zach, Heath and Heidi, and they have nineteen great-grandchildren.

John and Kathleen (Deufel) Meyer of Dorchester will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married August 9, 1969 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Caledonia, MN.

They have three children, Kevin (Johnny) of Fishkill, NY, Kimberly Meyer of Oswego, IL and Debra (Todd) Coberley of Plainfield, IL. They also have three grandsons, Caleb and Colin Coberley, and Evan Aklan.

Lee and Angela Carlson of Dorchester announce the birth of their son, Morris Lee Carlson, born July 17, 2019 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 6 lbs. 7 ozs. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Memphis (4).

Grandparents are Pat and Randy Carlson of Hokah, MN and Sheryl Bieber and the late Daniel Bieber of Waukon.

The Livingood Family Reunion will be held at the Freedom Bank basement (formerly Farmers and Merchants Bank) in Waukon Sunday, August 11 with a potluck dinner at noon. Beverages will be furnished. Arrive early for visiting.

Friends and relatives are invited and are encouraged to be part of this event to help make this reunion as big as the reunions held years ago at the Stone House built by the family’s ancestors.
 

The Anderson Busness Family Reunion will be held Sunday, August 11 at the restored barn of Robert and Eunice Kolsrud located at 1275 Gjefle Drive, Waukon. All family members are invited for a potluck dinner to be served at 12:30 p.m. which will include broasted chicken, with plates, cups, utensils and beverages provided.

Those attending are asked to bring a vegetable, salad or dessert to share. Local family members are requested to invite immediate family members residing outside the area.

A short program will follow dinner and will provide an opportunity to share information to update the family history. Those attending should bring a favorite memory or story of an ancestor to share.
 

The 40-year class reunion for the Waukon High School Class of 1979 is scheduled for Saturday, August 3. The festivities will begin at 2 p.m.  with a visit to Empty Nest Winery owned by classmate Dave Kruger and his wife, Pam. The winery is located at 1352 Apple Road, Waukon.

Social hour will be from 5-6 p.m. at Green Valley Getaway, 78 16th Avenue NW, Waukon. The reunion program will begin at 6 p.m., also at Green Valley Getaway. Classmates are welcome to join the festivities for part or all of the day, even after the meal. Several mailed invitations were returned because of out-of-date addresses, so classmates are asked to spread the word.

The Viroqua High School Class of 1969 50-year Reunion will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, August 10 at Gassers in Viroqua, WI. Classmates interested in attending should contact Chris Hendrickson at chrisser51@gmail.com or by calling 608-444-7986.

This will be an informal event with food and a bar with an assortment of beverages. Individuals who respond will be provided additional information prior to the event. Anyone with contact information about members of the Class of 1969 is asked to pass this reunion information along to them.  All assistance is appreciated.
 

Herbert and Patricia (Doskocil) Larkin of Waukon will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary at Larkinfest Saturday, July 27 at St. Patrick’s Hall in Waukon.

The couple was married July 22, 1959 at St. Patrick’s  in Seneca, WI. Their children are Gregory (Sandra), Janaan (Michael) Roberts, Christopher (Rosalie), Vincent (Lori) and Duane (Donna). They have seven grandchildren, including Sarah, Jennifer, Nichol, Nathan, Alexis, Ashley and Logan, and three great-grandchildren, including Zoe, Delaney and Jaxson.

Carl and Julie (Moose) Johnson are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple exchanged vows July 26, 1969 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, West Ridge in rural Waukon.

They have four children including Olaf (Jill) of Waukon, Darcey (Craig) Timmerman of Spring Grove, MN, Angie (Joe) Stortz of Rochester, MN and Heidi (Joe) Feltz of Des Moines. They also have six grandchildren including Kern, Laney, Liza, Chandler, Kenndridge and Cavel, and one great-granddaughter, Tatum.

A celebration and dinner with family is planned.
 

Jay and Jaqulyne Fruechte of Des Moines announce the birth of their son, Calvin George Fruechte, born July 1, 2019 in Des Moines. He weighed 7 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Barry and Lisa Fruechte of New Albin and Denilson and Luciana Xavier of Brazil. Great-grandparents are Jean and the late George Huffey of Waterville, the late Norma and Albert Fruechte of New Albin and Wanda and Marinho Miranda of Brazil.
