Justin and Regan (Berns) Sweeney of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Evelyn Margo Sweeney, born April 9, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI. She weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 19-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins big sisters, Stella (4) and Scarlet (2).

Grandparents are Jim and Margo (White) Sweeney of Waukon, Jim and Rebecca (Palmer) Beardmore of Caledonia, MN and Reg and Angie Berns of Dorchester. Great-grandparents are the late Ray and Monica Sweeney, the late Bob and Vonnie White, Francis and Muggs Berns of Waukon, the late Bob Palmer and Kate Finley of Utica, MN.

Kenzie and Kale McCormick of Dubuque announce the birth of their daughter, Shaylee Rae McCormick, born March 15, 2019 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. She weighed 8 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Frank and Kelsey Weymiller of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Eli William Weymiller, born April 24, 2019 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 ozs. and measured 20-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a brother, Bo (22 months).

Grandparents are Dave and Laure Weymiller of New Albin, Chris Schwartzhoff of Prairie du Chien, WI and Jerry Baxter of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Doc and Jean Ann Weymiller of Harpers Ferry, Frannie Fahey of Waukon and Don Schwartzhoff of Waukon.
 

Tracy and Nicole Blake of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Weston James Blake, born April 23, 2019 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 3 ozs. and measured 19-1/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Ayden (14) and Courtney (11).

Grandparents are Ed and Mary Blake of Waukon and Marvin and Barb Hill of Waukon.
 

James and Abby Caston of Postville announce the birth of their son, Axel James Earl Caston, born April 26, 2019 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 22-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Arabella.

Grandparents are Eric and Karla Johnson of Postville, Kevin and Lori Pritchard of Dundee and Earl Caston of Pine Bush, NY. Great-grandparents are Ardis Klepper of Postville and Pam Voshell of Guttenberg, and honorary grandparents are Ronald and Linda Upton of Postville.
 

Larry and Cindy Schellhammer of Waukon announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Schellhammer, to Tony Runyan of Cedar Falls. The couple will exchange vows May 18, 2019 in Cedar Falls.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Waukon Senior High School and is a 2010 graduate of University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in Cedar Falls with a degree in social work. Since 2011, she has been employed with Scheels in Cedar Falls working with display, merchandising and the store’s social media.

The groom-elect is the son of Sam Runyan and Sandra Runyan of Cedar Falls and is a 1998 graduate of Cedar Falls High School. He is co-owner of Runyan Brothers Construction and is a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker/Trapp Realty in Cedar Falls.
 

Lennie and Sherry Mellick of New Albin will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Saturday, May 4 from 4-9 p.m. The celebration will be held at the New Albin Community Center, 137 Railroad Avenue SW in New Albin.

The Waukon High School Class of 1959 will hold its 60-year reunion Saturday, September 14 at the Empty Nest Winery at 1352 Apple Road,Waukon.

The Waukon High School Class of 1969 will hold its 50-year reunion Saturday, October 19 at Empty Nest Winery, 1352 Apple Road, Waukon. Social hour will be at 6 p.m., dinner will be at 7 p.m. and a professional class photo will be taken by Riverside Photography Studio, Lansing at 8 p.m.

Invitations have been mailed out through the U.S. Postal System to all classmates found. Anyone who has not received an invitation should call Gloria Sander Payne, committee chairperson at 563-586-2045 to receive an invitation to fill out and to be returned to the reunion committee.
