Waukon Fire Department has new JAWS of Life equipment

The Waukon Fire Department is now equipped with new JAWS of Life equipment that will better facilitate rescue and removal of victims of automobile, farm or industrial accidents. The new equipment purchased replaced the original JAWS of Life equipment the department has been using since 1981, and the replacement was made possible by a combination of Civil Defense grant funding, matching funds from the City of Waukon and the Rural Fire Board, and the local volunteer department's annual pancake breakfast and Fireman's Ball fundraising events.
