Harold James Lloyd of Harpers Ferry, age 82, passed away October 4, 2013 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 8 at St. Pius Catholic Church, Cherry Mound in Harpers Ferry, officiated by Fr. John Moser. Burial was at St. Pius, Cherry Mound cemetery, rural Harpers Ferry.
Pallbearers were Bill Lloyd, Mike Lloyd, Rob Lloyd, John Lloyd, Randy Lloyd and Dan Lloyd.

Esther L. Smith, 87, of rural Postville died Monday, October 7, 2013 at her home. There will be a private family burial at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon.
Esther Louise Smith was born November 18, 1925 in Waukon, the daughter of John C. and Eugenia L. (Phillips) May. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon and attended rural country school in the Postville area.

Bertha Jeanette Klas, 82, of New Vienna died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City after a brief illness. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 9 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 10 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. John O’Connor.

Harlan “Herk” Herman, 76, of Waukon died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Friday, October 4 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Jim Dubert officiating. Burial with military honors was at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.

Frances L. Bunting, age 100, of Fort Dodge died Monday, September 16, 2013 at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Memorial services were held Friday, September 20 at Friendship Haven Celebration Center with the Rev. Anita Johnson officiating. Burial of cremated remains was in Elkader Cemetery.

Audrey Jean Gustafson, age 82, of White Bear Lake, MN passed away September 29, 2013. A memorial service and celebration of her life were held Friday, October 4 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, MN.
Audrey was born in Waukon in 1931 to Frank S. Hausman and Mabel B. Hausman. She resided in White Bear Lake, MN most of her adult life. She is survived by her husband, Burch; her son, Paul (Debra); her daughter, Sara (Chris); and her grandchildren, Laura (Paul) and Joseph (Debra).

Anne Curran, 51, of Austin, TX passed away of renal cancer May 23, 2013 at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House. A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held at the Kerndt Brothers Community Center in Lansing this Friday, October 11 from 6-8:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Wexford Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, rural Lansing Saturday, October 12 at 10 a.m.

Lola Maxine Springer, 97, of Hampton passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 4 at the Hampton United Methodist Church with Pastor Corby Jo Johnson officiating.
Family will greet friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday prior to the services at the church. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery. The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton is in charge of arrangements.

Don W. Hrdina, 73, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Cresco, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at his home in Rochester, MN. Funeral services were held Monday, September 30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Jim Dubert officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Lycurgus Cemetery, rural Waukon. Martin Funeral Home of Waukon assisted with arrangements.

Adrian John Zeimet, son of John Michael and Leonette Althoff Zeimet, was born March 1, 1934 in Dubuque.  He departed this life Wednesday, September 25, 2013 surrounded by his family in his home at Sunrise Beach, MO at the age of 79 years, six months and 24 days.
Graveside services and military honors were held Saturday, September 28 in Garber Memorial Estates in Laurie, MO
January 19, 1993 in Las Vegas, NV he was united in marriage to Nancy Elaine Davis. Together they shared 20 years of marriage.
