Perry and Karen Norton of Waukon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Karen Delaney and  Perry Norton were married October 2, 1971 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon.

The couple’s children are Brian of Traer and Nicole (Luke) Greazel of Solon. Their grandchildren are Anna Schenkel, and Rylie and Tyler Greazel.

Birth announcement: Hawes

Dakota Hawes and Molly Johnson of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Lennyn Denise Hawes, born September 18, 2021 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 22-1/4 inches in length at the time of her birth.

Grandparents are Wayne Johnson and Jeff and Becky Hawes, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Gary Ward of Waukon and Jim Fahey and Cheryl Thompson of Decorah.

Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg of Lansing will be the guest of honor at a Sunday, October 3 open house event being held in honor of his 95th birthday and celebrating 70 years since his ordination into the priesthood. That open house event will take place from 1-4 p.m. October 3 at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon.

The Toe Tappers will be providing the musical entertainment. Snacks and refreshments will be available.

The couple will exchange vows Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Ann - St. Joseph Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry. A dance open to the public will be held at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon, beginning at 8 p.m.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Iowa State University in Ames with a degree in Ag Business and is employed with the USDA Farm Service Agency as a Farm Loan Officer. The groom-to-be is a graduate of Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon with a degree in Equipment Operations and is employed with the Allamakee County Secondary Roads Department.

The family of Brent and Shirley Darling is celebrating the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary with a card shower. Brent Darling and Shirley Fink were united in marriage September 23, 1961 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing.

Their children include Sheryl (Dave) Mooney of Lansing, Lynn (Tom) Reburn of New Albin and Ellen Darling of Wauwatosa, WI. Their grandchildren are Nick Mooney, Jason Mooney, Dan Reburn and Jake Reburn, and their great-grandchildren are Connor Stilwell and Rian Reburn.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve and Nancy Leiran of Waterville. She is a 2019 graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Agriculture Studies and is employed as a Domestic Order Specialist at Soft-Tex International in Waterford, NY.

The groom-elect is the son of Jodi Fink and Weston Fink, both of Nora Springs. He is a 2016 graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and is currently in graduate school for Chemical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Jen and Tony D’Alessandro of Cedar Falls announce the birth of their son, Jackson Archer D’Alessandro, born August 26, 2021 at Unity Point - Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He weighed 8 lbs. 13.2 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Kylie (3) and Daniel (21 months).

Grandparents are Dave and Cheryl Brandt of Waukon and Dan and Pat D’Alessandro of LeClaire. Great-grandparents are Yvonne Brandt of Waukon and Eileen Lembke of Monona.
