Lon and Mary Boesch are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They married September 21, 1974 at St. Pius Cherry Mound Church in rural Harpers Ferry. They are currently residing in Madison, WI.

Mickayla Close and Brandon Kountkofsky of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Jenavii Mary Kountkofsky, born September 7, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 14 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Cybastian (6), Alexander (4) and Ezra (3).

Grandparents are Ray Close of McGregor, Cindy and Mike Fritz of Florida, the late Mary Kountkofsky of Dorchester and the late Mike Blake of Dorchester. Great-grandparents are Debbie Eilers-Lange, the late Sandy Genthe, and Mike and Darla Eilers, all of McGregor.

Helen Johnson of Waukon will be celebrating her 90th birthday September 22. In honor of the occasion, cards may be sent to 430 4th Street SE, Waukon, IA 52172. She requests no gifts.
 

Jamie and BreeAnna McCarthy of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Colton McCarthy, born August 22, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 9 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 21-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Jordan McCarthy (7) and Haven McCarthy (3).

Grandparents are Roy and DeeAnn Christophersen of Lawler, Lori and Marty Hemann of Waukon, and Brian and Jennifer McCarthy of Canton, OH. Great-grandparents are Larry Craun and Dorothy Bartels, both of Sumner.

Members of the Waukon Senior High School Class of 1970 will celebrate their 54-year reunion Saturday, September 28 of this year at the Empty Nest Winery, located at 1352 Apple Road in rural Waukon. A 5:30 p.m. social hour will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and then a short program.

Those in the Waukon High School Class of 1970, as well as faculty and staff from that era, are invited to attend. Troy and Caitlin Friederich of Postville announce the birth of their daughter,  Lucy Renee Friederich, born August 15, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 10 ozs. and measured 19-3/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a brother, Dawson (2).

Grandparents are Steve and Barb Friederich of Postville and Scott and Tracy Giles of Mt. Ayr. Great-grandparents are Ray and Murtis Friederich of Postville, Don Stephens of Mt. Ayr and Larry and Karon Giles of Mt. Ayr.

Juan C. Canseco and Laura J. Castillo of Postville announce the birth of their daughter, Eliana Canseco, born August 19, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 4 lbs. 15 ozs. at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Emiliano Castillo and Emily Canseco Castillo.

Jarrod Schobert and Katelyn Dull of Lansing announce the birth of their son, Jaxden Zane Schobert, born August 19, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 14 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of his birth. Grandparents are James and Patricia Schobert and Wade and Colleen Dull.

Ervin and Barbara Borntrager of rural Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Marnita Kaye Borntrager, born August 13, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 ozs. and measured 19-3/4 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins sisters, Kaylene Rose (3) and Katelyn Fern (2).
