Ainsly Lydon and Wyatt Kiley of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Oakley Irene Kiley, born May 6, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 12 ozs. and measured 19 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins a brother, Oliver Kiley (2).

Grandparents are John and Shelly Lydon of Waukon and Shawn Kiley of Harpers Ferry. Great-grandparents are Sandy Bresnahan of Waukon and Darlyne Peterson of Harpers Ferry.

Nathan and RoseMary Hershberger of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Jeremy Ray Hershberger, born May 8, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 13 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth.

Grandparents are Mel and Barb Hershberger and Alvin and Betty Yoder, all of Waukon. Great-grandparents are Mose and Sara Hershberger of La Valle, WI, Dan and Sylvia Borntrager of Clermont, and Emma Yutzy of Edgewood.

Nicholas Howe and  Brooke Grotegut of Luana announce the birth of their son, Odin Michael Howe, born May 6, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 8 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 21-3/4 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Zayne (9), Maison (8) and Quinnleigh (15 months).

Grandparents are Melissa and Darin Carolus of Waverly, James and Jenny Rosendahl of Waukon, Cathy Stahl and Todd Waterman of Waukon, Pamela and Justin Grotegut of Hiawatha, and the late Ed Stahl of Lansing. Great-grandparents are Beverly and the late Robert Howe of Lansing, Debra and Gary Grotegut of Waukon, the late Duane and the late Maggie DeWalle of Waukon, and Diane Rosendahl of La Marque, TX.

Shane and Liz Murphy of Waukon announce the birth of their daughter, Anne Rose Murphy, born April 21, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 8 lbs. 0.3 ozs. and measured 20 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins siblings, Miles (7), Mila (5) and Lachlan (2).

Grandparents are Tom and Angela Weighner and Randy and Lisa Murphy, all of Waukon. Grace Murphy of Waukon is a great-grandparent.

Kevin and Trish Martin of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Owen David Martin, born April 23, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 5 lbs. 13 ozs. and measured 17-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Brooklyn (15), Alexis (12) and Mason (6).

Grandparents are Walter and Peggy Martin of Waukon and Lorraine and the late Linda Kalke of Decorah.

Members of the Waukon Senior High Class of 1970 will celebrate their 54th reunion Saturday, September 28 of this year at the Empty Nest Winery, located at 1352 Apple Road in rural Waukon. A 5:30 p.m. social hour will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and then a short program.

Those in the Waukon High School Class of 1970, as well as faculty and staff from that era, are invited to attend. Nick and Lexie Brink of Waukon announce the birth of their son, Beau Gary Brink, born April 5, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. He weighed 7 lbs. 3 ozs. and measured 21 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins a sister, Huntley (2).
Grandparents are Ed and Amy Bieber of Waukon, Gerald and Laurie Brink of Waukon, and Lori and Cary Erickson of Decorah. Great-grandparents are Patrick and Mary Jo Liddiard of Waukon, Joan Bieber of Waukon, Lucy Brink of Postville, Vivian Guyer of West Union and Carol Erickson of Elgin, MN. Leonette Troendle of Waukon is a great-great-grandparent.

An open house will be held in honor of Jane Tepesch’s retirement Saturday, April 13 from 1-4 p.m. in the Community Room at Freedom Bank, 201 West Main Street, Waukon.

Jane had been employed in the Waukon community for nearly 70 years dating back to 1954. No gifts are requested.

Ross and Vanessa Ellefson of Harpers Ferry announce the birth of their daughter, Clara Mae Ellefson, born March 31, 2024 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and measured 20-1/2 inches in length at the time of her birth. She joins sisters, Ava (7) and Sophia (5).

Grandparents are Roger and Lynn Ellefson of Waterville and Keith and Patrice Schulte of Waukon.
