Doug and Sharon Kubitz of rural Monona will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple married at the Rossville Presbyterian Church Saturday, June 13, 1970 with the ceremony officiated by Rev. Tjaden.

They have two children, Bob (Tracy) and Shelley (Ryan), and seven grandchildren including Kyle, Jordan, Shawnee, Cody, Joe, Ian and Sean, in addition to three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Tate and Klayton.

A family celebration will be scheduled at a later date.

He weighed 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and measured 19-1/2 inches in length at the time of his birth. He joins siblings, Nolan Bakke (14) and Caymen Alber (3).

Grandparents are Kevin Bakke of Waukon, Ron and Julie Peiffer of Harpers Ferry and Jeff and LuAnn Alber of West Union. Great-grandparents are Don and Joyce Bakke and Sharon Brown, all of Waukon.

Lyle and Nancy Bodensteiner 50th wedding anniversary

Lyle and Nancy Bodensteiner of Waukon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple met while growing up on farms outside of Ossian. They married at St. Francis de Sales Church June 6, 1970 and lived in Ossian, where Lyle owned and operated B&M Motors, while raising their four children. In 1988, they moved to Waukon where Lyle began his insurance company and Nancy began serving the community as a housekeeper at Veterans Memorial Hospital ,where she worked for 21 years. 50 years later their legacy includes four loving children: Brian (Cindy), Brenda (Ken) Klenk, Amy (Tim) Cummings and Nikki Fish, and 11 adoring grandchildren: Celena, Hanna (Jed), Ellie (Caleb), Annelise, Hunter, Kadee, Amelia, Reed, Holden, Seth and Henry.
