Waukon Dental and associated area offices hosting 22nd year of "Have a Heart" Day

The doctors and staff of Waukon Dental, Dental Associates of Decorah, P.C., Family Dentistry Associates of Monona, and Dental Associates of Prairie du Chien (celebrating 18 years) will be hosting their “Have a Heart” day again this year. Area residents are encouraged to participate in the annual “Have a Heart” day scheduled by area health care providers Saturday, February 11.

Robey Memorial Library NEIBORS training Jan. 26

Library patrons have anytime, anywhere access to a dynamic collection of digital audio books and eBooks through the library service NEIBORS, the North Eastern Iowa Bridge to Online Resource Sharing.
Robey Memorial Library in Waukon will be offering two NEIBORS Training sessions Thursday, January 26, at 11 a.m. or 6 p.m. Area patrons are invited to come and learn how to checkout audio books and eBooks on their own eBook or audio device using their Robey Memorial Library card!

Waukon business and property owners invited to downtown forum

Downtown business owners and property owners are invited to participate in a discussion about the future of downtown Waukon.
Allamakee County Economic Development, the Waukon Chamber of Commerce and Waukon Economic Development Corporation are hosting a downtown forum Tuesday, January 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the community room at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon. Light refreshments will be served.

Waukon Fire Protection District releases its Annual Report for 2011

Bernard Welsh, Treasurer of the Waukon Area Fire Protection District that includes the City of Waukon and all or parts of eight townships around Waukon, gave an annual financial report to the District Board Wednesday evening, January 4 during its monthly meeting. The District Board of Directors is comprised of four city representatives, Loren Beneke, Trent Mitchell, Joe Kroack and Joe Cunningham, and four township trustees, Bob Larkin, Bernard Welsh, Greg Kerndt and Tony Baxter.

Robey Memorial Library Campaign adds Kallevang and Leschensky as Honorary Campaign Co-Chairs

Jens Kallevang, CPA pf Hagen & Kallevang, Waukon, and John E. Leschensky, CLU of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Waukon have joined the Robey Memorial Library Capital Campaign as Honorary Co-Chairs. They join Ken Olson and Will Ament, who are the Campaign Co-Chairs, and approximately 25 other area volunteers. Together, these volunteers will conduct the Robey Memorial Library Capital Campaign to fund the library expansion project.
