On Monday, July 27, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office conducted an undercover operation on illegal sales of prescription drugs at a West Union residence. At 4:30 p.m., the Sheriff's Office conducted a search of a residence on S. Walnut Street in West Union, and made two arrests.
Bradley Earl Larson, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Postville, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009, in Arlington, Texas, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 41.
The Bob's Creek Neighbor's Club met at the Home Grown Restaurant in Monona on July 15. There were 12 members present. The August meeting will be held at Maggie's Diner on August 19. Members are to meet at the church parking lot at 8 a.m. The group is to arrive at Maggie's at 8:30 a.m.

Casey Moon and Peter Fisk, both of Monona, are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. The couple will marry September 12, 2009 at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder. A reception and dance will follow at the Waukon Banquet and Reception Center.
Casey is the daughter of Rick and Vickie Moon of Luana. Her grandparents are Roger and Carol Wettleson of Postville and Dwayne and Inez Moon of Luana.
Peter is the son of Curt and Julie Fisk of Monona.
This summer has been busy with babies and weddings. My generation of friends has been married off for quite a few years. Now their children are getting married and having babies. Recently I ran into one of my classmates that I hadn't seen for awhile. My son walked up to us and I proceeded to tell my classmate that this was my baby. I believe he choked on his drink and then asked if that was my husband. I laughed so hard as my son looks a lot older than what he is and my husband looks younger than his age but is older than me.
The July meeting of the Home- Garden club was held at "Annie's Garden". Seven members and two guests, Corrine Schoien and Virginia McQuire, were present.
The general meeting and roil-call were dispensed for this meeting. Ann Bushman, owner, conducted a tour of her herb garden, explained each herb, gave each person a sample of each, explained how she started her herb boxes and which were annuals and which were perennials.
