10 to 12 Months Before

Anna Marie (Brennan) Binsfeld, age 77 of Onalaska, WI passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, March 3, 2005. Visitation was held Sunday, March 6 at Dickenson Funeral Home in LaCrosse and at the St. James Catholic Church on Monday until the Liturgy of Christian Burial. Burial was held in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in LaCrosse.

The 8th grade boy’s basketball team opened the season against MFL MarMac on Thursday, January 13. After a tight game in the first half with a score of 18-19 at halftime, the Bulldogs were able to pull away for a 24-35 win.

Tom Kerndt and Travis Allie lead the scoring charge with six points a piece. Corey Stussy did a great job on the boards gathering seven rebounds with Jon Stirn collecting six. Kerndt and Allie also collected two steals each.

Unfortunately, the Kee Hawk boys basketball season was cut short when they were defeated by Valley in a first round tournament game. Senior Jordan Duffy said, “I was disappointed that our season ended so abruptly. I definitely think we had the potential to make it a lot further.”

Although the end of the season came sooner than expected, a lot of hard work and memories were produced throughout the year. Justin Harris commented, “I was new to Kee High this year and basketball gave me a chance to have fun and meet new people.”

Our WELCA meeting was held at the church on Thursday. We tied several quilts for World Relief, had our potluck meal and a business meeting. We are to furnish cookies at the Bethel Home on April 17th.

Our sympathy goes to the families of Richard Mellem, on his death last week. Richard and his family lived in the Victory vicinity several years ago.

Our sympathy is extended to Marian Whitney, her siblings and families of the death of her brother Melvin “Joe” Whitney last Saturday. Funeral services are to be held on Wednesday at the New Hope Methodist Church.

Norma Fruechte, Renee Hammell, Ardys Wild and Diane Erb were the hostesses at St. Peter’s U.C.C. Women’s Fellowship on Tuesday, March 1. Shirley Wuennecke was in charge of the program. Her topic was “Jesus’s Sense of Mission.” The birthday song was sung for Joan Meyer and Maudie Syhlman who have March birthdays. Hostesses in April will be Violet Stehr, Violet Beneke, Maudie Syhlman and Veb Dresselhaus. Program will by by Marilyn Wild.
