RECOGNIZING SYMPTOMS OF INCREASED STRESS

Do stress pills remove the stress in your life? Promoters of “stress tablets” would like us to believe all we need to do to keep stress under control is pop their pills. If only it were that easy.
“Stress” is well-known, but not well understood. Its source may be psychological (nervous tension, rage, fear) or physical (extreme hot or cold, burns, infections). Regardless of the source, the body has a three-stage reaction to stress.

HITTING HOME

I heard a story last night about a couple dear to me spending the night on their trailer roof last week out in Village Creek.
Seems the water came through the valley and carried both their vehicles away as well. Whether they scraped, crashed or landed against each other or the shaking, bending trees remains unclear to me, but I can report that the cars both suffered complete, irrepairable damage.
The trailer, tightened up, didn't fill with water. So neither the baby pictures nor their collection of rare, old blues records sang themselves back down to Memphis.

I have never seen a flower I did not like.”
As a result, her husband, Steve, a retired schoolteacher and counselor, built her a greenhouse. “Whatever I want, he builds for me,” she said.

Sailing from Fiji to New Caledonia, we left a former English colony to visit a former French colony. Captain James Cook first discovered present day New Caledonia in 1774. The islands so reminded him of his native Scottish highlands that he named the islands New Caledonia. Caledonia was the name the Romans gave to Scotland.

JUST LIKE GEPPETTO

Just like Geppetto’s workshop in the delightful fairytale Pinocchio, Mayhew “Make” Eaton’s workshop is filled with machinery, wood of different shapes and sizes, and just started carvings waiting for his hands to brush off the dust and finish them off.
